Requirement for Typing Test

Passage Length :-

• For English 400 words(2000 keystrokes )
• For Hindi 300 words (1500 keystrokes )

Duration :- 10 minutes

Speed :-

• 40 wpm in English
• 30 wpm in Hindi

Font :- Generally uses Mangal Font (Remington Gail and Inscript Layout)

Note :- Typing material will be shown on the upper half screen and candidate will write it on the half lower screen .

It is a qualifying test but candidate must clear it with 90-95 % accuracy. 

Candidate can use backspace key as well as arrow keys to correct the word and sentence.

Error Evaluation

There are two type of error that’s counts :

Full Mistake (1.0 error count )

1. Omissions
2. Substitutions
3. Additions
4. Spelling Errors

Half Mistake (0.5 error count )

1. Spacing Errors
2. Wrong Capitalization
3. Punctuation Errors
4. Transposition :- : Interchanging the position of two words (ex. “hope I” instead of “I hope”)

Speed and Error Formula :- 

1. Gross Speed = Total keystrokes typed divided by 5, then divided by the test duration (10 minutes)
2. Net Speed= Gross strokes -(total mistakes x 5)/5x Duration
3. Accuracy= Correct words /total words typed x100
