In the recruitment released by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB), a skill test is conducted for most clerical and stenography posts. These posts include Grade-IV Junior Assistant, Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Assistant (SCERT), Junior Stenographer (Typing + Shorthand), and Stenographer (Typing + Shorthand). Approximately 90% of the total vacancies require candidates to qualify a typing skill test as part of the selection process.

In the DSSSB typing test interface, the typing passage appears in the upper half of the screen, while the typing area or typing box is located in the lower half where the candidate types the text.

Based on previous examinations (such as Post Code 13/20, 02/17, etc.), the standard marking formula used in the DSSSB typing test is given below:
Half Mistakes(0.5):-
Full Mistakes (1 mistake)
1 Word = 5 Strokes (including space)
Gross Words = Total Strokes Typed ÷ 5
Gross Speed = Gross Words ÷ 10 minutes
Formula for Net Speed :
Net Speed = Gross Speed – (Total Full Mistakes ÷ 10)
